Jared C. Brossett was elected to the New Orleans City Council in February 2014. A proud graduate of McDonogh 35 Senior High School, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Harvard's Kennedy School Senior Executives Program, Councilmember Brossett is committed to living a service-driven life. His 15-year career in public service didn't begin as an elected official. Before he ran for public office, Brossett spent more than 7 years working for the people of New Orleans as a staff member for the City Council. Having worked his way up from intern to Legislative Aide to Chief of Staff, he knows the importance of commitment and the value of hard work. Facing the daunting challenges of post-Katrina life in New Orleans, he worked tirelessly with his City Council colleagues and the Mayor's administration to address the City's pressing issues, including sprawling blight, violent crime, crumbling infrastructure, and failing public schools.
