NEW ORLEANS - The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works, working with the Sewerage and Water Board, will soon begin construction of the Youth Study Streets Project in the Pilotland area. The project scope includes:
· Removing and replacing damaged water lines
· Repairing damaged sidewalks
· Installing ramps compliant with ADA guidelines
· Asphalt and concrete roadway paving
Construction of the Youth Study Streets project is scheduled to begin in early February 2017 and will last through fall 2017.
In general, the construction contractor will work from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, there may be delays due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Residents should exercise caution when driving, bicycling or walking near active construction sites.
