NEW ORLEANS - This week's Criminal Justice Committee meeting is packed. The committee will hear about a first of its kind study that takes a look at the financial burden that our citizens take on after entering the criminal justice system. We will also hear the current stats on the Orleans Parish jail population and the City's efforts to safely reduce and manage the population.
Plus, the New Orleans Police Department will discuss their efforts with their latest technology rollout and Councilmember Susan Guidry will present proclamations to an organization and a court that hosted a Warrant Clinic that assisted over 1,200 people whose debts to the court were adversely affecting their ability to be productive citizens.
